An early and rare trade catalogue from the Société des Lunetiers, a successor to the firm Coyen-Carmouche, offering products that include silver lorgnettes, magnifying glasses, thermometers, barometers, weather clocks, postal scales, steam engines, and small-scale train engines and boats powered by steam.

Founded in 1849, the Société des Lunetiers united numerous instrument makers whose overlapping skills were combined to make the firm a leader in manufacturing optical and other instruments. The firm exists to this day, now known as Essilor, a manufacturer known of eyeglass lenses.
